Running Pace Calculator
Three modes: calculate your finish time from a pace and distance, find your pace from a distance and time, or calculate how far you ran given a time and pace. Also shows projected finish times for common race distances.

Pace Formulas
Finish time = Pace (sec/km) × Distance (km)
Pace (sec/km) = Total time (sec) ÷ Distance (km)
Distance (km) = Total time (sec) ÷ Pace (sec/km)
Speed (km/h) = 3600 ÷ Pace (sec/km)
Pace Reference — Common Race Targets
| Target | Pace /km | Pace /mi |
|---|---|---|
| 5K in 20:00 | 4:00 | 6:26 |
| 5K in 25:00 | 5:00 | 8:03 |
| 10K in 50:00 | 5:00 | 8:03 |
| Half marathon sub-2h | 5:41 | 9:09 |
| Marathon sub-4h | 5:41 | 9:09 |
| Marathon sub-3h | 4:16 | 6:52 |
How to use
Pace → Time
Enter your target pace (minutes:seconds per km or mile) and race distance to predict your finish time. Also shows projected times for 5K, 10K, half marathon, and marathon at the same pace.
Time → Pace
Enter your total run time and distance to calculate your average pace per km and per mile, plus your average speed.
Distance
Enter both a time and a pace to find how far you would travel — useful for planning training runs by time.
Tips
- •A 5:00/km pace equals 8:03/mile and roughly 12 km/h.
- •Sub-4 hour marathon requires a pace of 5:41/km (9:09/mile).
- •For negative splits, aim to run the second half of a race slightly faster than the first.
